It also contains a yantra that can be used for worshiping the Lakshmi with Narayanan (god Vishnu with goddess Lakshmi). Throughout the song, it talks about how divine this duo is by praising their holiness, beauty, talents etc. It also has a lot of references to the Bhagavad Gita which is one of the most famous Indian texts. It mentions this holy scripture in various verses and urges people to read it. The Lakshmi Narayana hrudayam stotram is one of the most popular mantras for worshipping Lakshmi with Narayanan. It aims at worshipping both Vishnu and Lakshmi, portraying them as divine beings. This mantra has been sung either by groups or individuals every day in temples across India, especially during festivals when people are supposed to pray more to god- Vishnu and Lakshmi. The best season for this song is Navaratri (nine nights). The Lakshmi Narayana hrudayam stotram is composed by Swami Hridayananda. He was born on March 3, 1958 in Kerala, India. His original name was Gopalakrishna Menon. Parents named him Gopalan because they were staunch devotees of god Krishna.  He had always known that he wanted to become a sanyasi (ascetic) since childhood and he started his ascetic life early on in his life at the age of 11/12. At the age of 12 he joined the Sringeri mutt (Sringeri monastery) which is located in Karnataka, India where he learned Sanskrit, philosophy, grammar etc. He joined the Sringeri mutt as a student of Shri Shivarama Swami, a renowned Hindu guru. His guru was looking for someone who could help him translate religious texts from Sanskrit to Malayalam and Tamil.  He volunteered to do this job and started working as a translator. He translated a lot of books including Bhagavata Purana, Shrimad Bhagavatam (known as the small encyclopedia of Hinduism), Ramcharitmanas (the most famous Hindu epic in India written by Sage Tulsidas) etc. He also became well versed in these languages. Hridayananda Swami used to compose songs from his early days but he never publicly sang them. In 1979, when Srila Prabhupada, the founder of ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) visited Sringeri Mutt, Hridayananda Swami met him. He composed a song after his visit which is called the Sri Sri Radha Gopinathastakam. His guru was pleased with this piece and urged him to sing in public in a future event in Mumbai where a large number of devotees would be present. cfa1e77820
